Halloween 2026 — Saturday, 31 OctoberA weekend Halloween — cards land best the evening before 🎃

What happens when they open it

Your friend taps one link. Twenty-four seconds of haunted night play out — every frame drawn in wobbling chalk lines, like a sketchbook come alive.

  1. BEAT 1

They arrive at a haunted house

Fog on the ground, bats crossing the moon, pumpkins glowing on the path — and a paper tag on the door with their name written on it.

  2. BEAT 2

    They knock

The knocker swings and strikes, dust falls off the frame, the cat on the fence jumps — then an eye slides across the peephole and checks who's outside before the door creaks open.

  3. BEAT 3

    They choose: TRICK or TREAT

The screen splits in two. Purple ghost on one side, candy on the other. This is the moment the card stops being a card and becomes a game.

  4. BEAT 4

TRICK — a friendly jump scare

Two eyes open in the dark, a ghost pops out with a BOO, bats scatter — then it grins, apologises, and hands them a treat anyway.

  5. BEAT 5

    TREAT — candy everywhere

Sweets rain down the screen, pumpkins bounce, and a glowing jack-o'-lantern appears with a gift tag carrying your name. They tap it to open.

  6. BEAT 6

Your message, under the pumpkin light

Both paths land on the same ending: your photo rising out of magic smoke, their name in the headline, your message, and your name at the bottom.

  7. …and it's your name in the sky

Title, message and all five colours are editable. The witch writes whatever you tell her to.

    Try it now

Three steps, no cauldron required

Two minutes for the essentials. Ten if you fuss over the colours — and you will.

1 · Open the template

Start with Spooky Ghost Night. No account needed — the haunted villa is already waiting.

2 · Make it yours

Type the sky-title and your message. Recolour the moon, pumpkins, ghosts and sparkles if you like.

3 · Share the link

WhatsApp, Instagram, anywhere. It plays full-screen in their browser — no app, no download.

Halloween wishes worth stealing

Steal a line for the card's message slot — or send one as a text with your card link. Every wish has a copy button.

Paste one of these next to the link. Short on purpose — WhatsApp crops long messages behind a 'Read more' and the link preview does the rest.

  • Knock on the door and pick a side. Trick or treat? 🎃👇

Short, mysterious, gets opened. The best all-rounder.

  • Made you something for Halloween. Fair warning: one of the two buttons bites. 👀

  • There's a haunted house with your name on the door. Literally. Go look. 🏚️

  • Don't open this in a quiet room. Sound on. 🔊👻

  • You get one choice: TRICK or TREAT. Choose wisely, there's no going back. (There is. You can replay it.)

  • Happy Halloween! Tap the link, knock on the door, and try not to scream. 🎃

  • This took me two minutes and it will take you thirty seconds. Worth it, I promise. 👻

Who gets haunted this year?

One template, very different cards — the words and colours do the shape-shifting.

The best friend far away

Different city, same spooky season. A link travels further than a pumpkin ever will.

Your partner in crime

Make the skeleton couple you two. Change the message to an inside joke only they will get.

Kids, nieces & nephews

Friendly ghosts, zero jump scares — and they will replay the dancing skeletons ten times.

The party group chat

Send one card as the invite instead of a plain text. RSVP rate: hauntingly good.

Teammates & clients

A tasteful spooky hello beats another 'Happy Halloween!' text in the office channel.

The neighbour who decorates

They put a graveyard on their lawn. Send them one with a graveyard inside it.

Why this beats a “Happy Halloween 🎃” text

They play it, they don't just read it

Knock on the door, pick a side, tap the pumpkin. It takes about twenty seconds and it ends somewhere personal — which is why people replay it instead of scrolling past.

Their name is on the door

A paper tag hangs on the haunted door. As the camera walks up the path it comes into focus, and it has their name written on it. The card is theirs before they've even knocked.

Two endings, one message

TRICK gets a ghost that pops out and then apologises. TREAT gets candy raining down and a glowing pumpkin to open. Both land on the same photo and the same words from you.

Scary enough to be fun, never enough to upset

The ghost grins and hands over a treat within a second of the jump. It's built for kids, cousins, partners and the group chat alike.

Add your photo and your music

Drop in a photo and it rises out of magic smoke at the end, framed like a Polaroid. Pick a track and it plays behind the whole thing.

One link, no app, no sign-up

Share it on WhatsApp, Instagram or anywhere else. It opens in any phone browser, plays straight away, and nobody has to install or register for anything.

When is Halloween?

Halloween is celebrated every year on 31 October. In 2026 it falls on Saturday, 31 October 2026 — a weekend Halloween, which means bigger parties and more costumes. Animated cards land best the evening before or the morning of the 31st.

Halloween grew out of the Celtic festival of Samhain, when the veil between worlds was said to be thinnest — which is exactly the night to send someone a haunted villa with their name written across the sky. A digital Halloween greeting card travels anywhere a WhatsApp message can, costs nothing, and unlike candy, it can be replayed.

Questions, answered

Is the trick-or-treat card free?

You can build the whole card, personalise it and preview it for free. Sharing the finished link and downloading the HD video are covered by a one-time unlock or a plan — there's no subscription trap and no sign-up needed to try it.

Is it too scary for children?

No. The ghost pops out with a friendly 'BOO', then immediately smiles, apologises and hands over a treat instead. There's no gore, no horror imagery and no loud sudden audio — sound effects are gentle and there's a mute button in the corner.

What happens if they pick TRICK instead of TREAT?

They get the ghost, the bats and the jump — then the card tells them it couldn't leave them without a treat anyway, and both paths arrive at your photo and message. Nobody misses the ending by picking the 'wrong' side.

Can they play the other side afterwards?

Yes. A 'Play Again' button at the end points out which side they didn't choose, so most people immediately replay it to see the other one.

Does it work on WhatsApp?

Yes. You send a normal link. It opens in the phone's browser, plays straight away and works on both Android and iPhone. Nobody installs an app or creates an account to view it.

Can I use it as a Halloween party invitation?

Yes, and it works well as one — put the date, time and address in your WhatsApp message and let the card do the atmosphere. Guests knock on the door instead of reading a poster.

Can I download it as a video?

Yes. You can export the card as an HD video for Instagram Stories or Reels. The video plays the treat path from knock to reveal.

When is Halloween 2026?

Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday, 31 October — the best possible weekday for it. Send your cards on the 30th or the morning of the 31st so they're opened before the night starts.
